Directions to the Museum

From the A38 at AlvestonAt the traffic lights (by Berkeley Vale Motors) turn left onto the B4061 and follow it downhill entering the town of Thornbury at the end of the High Street. Turn right into Chapel Street (one way only) and the museum lies on the right between the Armstrong Hall and the Wheatsheaf Inn.

From Grovesend: follow the road into Thornbury and turn left at the T junction in front of Aldi into Rock Street, and right into Chapel Street.

From the A38 from Falfield: follow the B4061 Gloucester Road  to The Plain in Thornbury, turn left to join Rock Street as above.

 

Car parking 

A short stay car park (limit 2 hours) is situated opposite the museum. Long term car parks are situated off Rock Street and also off the High Street (see map).

 

Access

The museum is housed in a former cottage.  The ground floor is wheelchair accessible. The upstairs is reached by a narrow staircase.  A RADAR disabled toilet is situated behind the museum.

    

Places to eat

There are many places to shop and eat in the town centre. Our friendly staff on the front desk will be able to give you information.

 

Toilets

Besides the RADAR disabled toilet situated behind the museum, there are public conveniences in Rock Street, close to the Aldi store.
