Thornbury Museum
FAQ: Are you able to answer research enquiries? Answer: Our volunteers will attempt to respond to research enquiries but as an entirely volunteer-staffed museum, we do not have extensive facilities or time for this. However, we can recommend Gloucestershire Archives (Tel: 01452 425295, email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ), The Bristol Record Office (Tel: 0117 922 4224, email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and the local Thornbury Roots website (see our Links page). In addition, if you live in the area, you are very welcome to come along with your query to meetings of our Research Group, which meets once a month. (See details on the About Us page.)
FAQ: Can I donate items to the museum? Answer: We welcome new artefacts, documents and photos relating to our area, but are very restricted in the number of new objects we can accept into our collection due to lack of space. Please contact us before bringing anything large to the museum. One day we hope to have larger premises. If we are unable to accept an item we can often advise on alternatives.
FAQ: Can I donate to museum funds? Answer: Yes, please! And if you pay UK income tax, you can complete a Gift Aid form to allow us to reclaim it, at no cost to you. This means that, for every pound you donate, the museum can reclaim 25 pence, so the total value of the donation is £1.25.
